TSCC depends on techie volunteers to keep our computer lab and all our IT related needs operating and functioning at full capacity. Our techie volunteers are vital in helping TSCC focus on programs. Our IT projects offer opportunities for creativity, mentoring staff in the area of computers, and opportunities to develop a project from the ground up.
As a techie volunteer, you will have an opportunity to pick and choose the project you wish to volunteer for based on TSCC needs. Special projects require initial set up work, on-going consultation with staff, and are most likely one-time in nature. On-going projects require techies yearlong and may be repeated at specific times during the year.
Special Projects
- re-wire/set up our phone system (NEC)
- setup a computer network
- assess & provide a recommendation for new equipment purchase
- develop a database using Access
- other IT projects may be considered on an individual basis
- website redesign (Project Assigned!)
All techie volunteers working on special projects will under the direction of TSCC’s Executive Director.
On-Going Projects
- DECLA computer lab (set up a network, reconfigure computers & hook up printers)
- refurbish donated computers for DECLA students
- computer lab technicians to maintain our computers
All techie volunteers working on on-going projects will under the direction of TSCC’s Program Manager.
Minimum Requirements
- Must be knowledgeable in computers & use of technology
- Must be at least 18 years of age
